Meet the Rehab Team

The Vicdeaf Rehabilitation Team are a diverse group of professionals dedicated to quality information and service provision for those who are Deaf and hard of hearing.  Within this team are university qualified Speech Pathologists who have specialist skills in working with adults who have hearing loss. Current research indicates that hearing loss rehabilitation programs enhance successful adjustment to hearing aids. This is achieved through goal development, speech discrimination testing, hearing aid management training and communication strategies.

Vicdeaf has a long and reputable history of assisting people to successfully manage their tinnitus.  Vicdeaf Speech Pathologists provide tinnitus management sessions based on experience and knowledge of the latest management options.  The Rehabilitation Team have been represented at internationally recognised Tinnitus Retraining Therapy courses and follow a neurophysiological based model of tinnitus management.  Speech Pathologists work with hearservice Audiologists to provide a comprehensive range of services for:

• Adults with hearing loss and tinnitus (ringing in the ears) 
• Their families, friends and colleagues
• Employers working with adults with hearing loss
• Hearing awareness in the community.
